Pricing information
What are the fees for using Fundraise.com? How much does it cost?

Fundraise.com is free to use. There are no fees for signing up, and no monthly subscription-type fees either – it doesn’t cost anything to set up a fundraise page. Fees are levied on donation amounts raised online, at a 7.5% rate: 4.5% for service/maintenance, and 3% for credit card processing costs. Keep in mind that those fees only apply to online amounts. Any cash payments or checks are yours in full, since no processing is done by Fundraise.com.

How do I receive donations after my fundraiser ends? When do I get paid?

When your fundraiser ends, according to the expiration date you’ve entered into the system, a distribution is scheduled for two weeks later. On that date, all donations which have completed their thirty-day processing cycle will be summed, and a check will be mailed to the address provided in your Organization information. Any necessary follow-up checks will be made on a monthly basis, as funds become available.
My fundraiser ended. Why haven’t I received my donations yet?

Distributions are made two weeks after the fundraiser end-date, and then on a monthly basis after that. If your fundraiser campaign has ended, you’ll need to wait two weeks before the first check is sent. It’s also possible that at that two-week mark, you still don’t have any donations which have completed their thirty-day processing cycle, in which case the distribution will be made once funds are available. It’s also possible that your distribution was delayed because no address information was entered into your account. If that’s the case, please contact Fundraise.com at info@fundraise.com, or by calling 857-445-4163, to update your information and inform a representative that you believe you have funds available for distribution.
Where do I put in my address information to receive checks?

Address information is found in the Manage Organizations section of the user dashboard. Log in to your account, and go to the user dashboard. Select the Manage option next to the organization in question, and then click the blue Edit Information button on the left-hand side. The Address fields are on this page, and this information will be used to mail your checks.
What if I don’t want to receive checks? Can I receive wires, set up direct deposit, use a PayPal account, etc.?

Distributing via mailed check is our standard practice. If, for reasons of timing or distance, checks are not an option, we do offer domestic and international wire services, although these do incur $25 and $40 wire fees, respectively. Direct deposit, to a bank account or PayPal account, is not a supported feature on Fundraise.com.
Do I need to reach my goal to receive my donations? What happens if I don’t reach my goal?

Adding a goal to your fundraiser is a way to keep track of your campaign’s success, and to motivate your donors when you’re nearing the end of your fundraising. However, you don’t need to reach your goal in order to receive your money – no matter what, you’ll get what you’ve raised. Your goal is fully editable at any time in your campaign, so if you may have overshot, you can always change your goal to a more conservative estimate; on the other hand, if you meet your goal very quickly, you can set a new one to inspire more giving for your cause.
What if I’m fundraising for someone else? How will the check be made out?

Standard Fundraise.com policy dictates that checks are made out to the name of the organization which raises the funds – this may be your personal name, if you’re an individual fundraising for a personal cause. If you need funds made out to a specific individual, or a particular organizational payee/body, please call Fundraise.com at 857-445-4163, or send an email to info@fundraise.com, to specify your distribution needs.

How do I get people to donate to my campaign? Who donates to Fundraise.com fundraisers?

Most donations come from friends and family, community members, and other people who are closely connected to the fundraiser. The most successful fundraisers are the ones who actively promote their campaigns using email, social media, and even traditional methods like posting flyers and word-of-mouth. The biggest hurdle to getting funding is simply making sure that people know about your campaign. That’s why Fundraise.com includes a number of tools in the user dashboard for reaching out to your contacts through these avenues.
What happens when my fundraiser hits its expiration date? Does my fundraiser page expire?

Your fundraiser page’s expiration date marks an end to your campaign’s active term, and helps schedule your distributions of funds. However, your page will still be accessible, and people can still make donations to your cause; many users choose to leave their fundraiser pages up, to allow more donations to come in. If you’d prefer to end your fundraising precisely at the end date, you can always un-publish the page from your user dashboard, preventing other people from viewing it and donating to it.
How long can a fundraiser last? Does a page expire after a certain amount of time?

Fundraising campaigns can last indefinitely. Whether or not you set an expiration date, many people choose to leave their fundraiser pages up so that supporters can continue donating. Fundraise.com does not place a time limit on your campaigns or remove pages after a certain term.
What can I raise money for? What if I’m not a registered charitable organization? Can I fundraise for personal causes? Are donations made through Fundraise.com tax-deductible?

You or your organization can fundraise for any type of cause using Fundraise.com. You don’t have to be a registered 501(c)3 organization. However, local tax law will be applicable if donors are looking to deduct charitable donations on their taxes; consult a professional for more information on tax law in your home state.
Can I use Fundraise.com if I’m not based in the United States? Does Fundraise.com work internationally?

You can operate a Fundraise.com campaign from anywhere worldwide. However, Fundraise.com conducts all of its business in United States dollars, so all donation amounts and distributions will be calculated in USD.

How will I know when someone donates? Do I get notified when a donation is made?

Every time a donation is made to your fundraiser page, a notification will be sent via email. Your donor will also receive an email confirmation receipt, for their own records.
Can I keep my fundraising campaign private? Can anyone see my page and donate to it?

The user dashboard includes an option to Hide a fundraiser, which prevents it from showing up in search results. However, individuals who have a link directly to your fundraiser will still be able to view the page and donate to it.
Does Fundraise.com work on my phone? Is everything mobile-compatible?

Yes – operating a fundraising campaign, as well as donating to one, can all be done on a mobile device.
How much donor information do I get? Can I see the email addresses or home addresses of the people who donate to my page?

In your user dashboard, each fundraiser management page has its own Donations tab. This includes a searchable donation listing, which gives you all of the information on the donation (donor name, email address, timestamp, billing address, etc.), in addition to a one-click export in Excel spreadsheet format.
How do I set my password?

When you sign up for an account on Fundraise.com, you're automatically sent to your first Fundraiser page to get started editing and publishing. At the same time, we send you an email with a link that allows you to confirm your account and set a password. If you don't see that email after a few minutes have passed, you may want to check your spam folder, and ensure that you've typed your email address correctly. If you're still having trouble, or find that you have mis-typed your email address, please reach out to Fundraise.com directly. Once you've initially set a password, you can change it at any time from the My Account section of the user dashboard.
What can I do if I forget my password? Can I reset it or get a reminder?

If you forget your password, you can have a password-reset email sent to the address you used to sign up; just go to www.fundraise.com/user/password/new and enter your email address. If you don't see that email after a few minutes have passed, you may want to check your spam folder, and ensure that you've typed your email address correctly. If you're still having trouble, find that you have mis-typed your email address, or no longer have access to that email address, please reach out to Fundraise.com directly.
